q&a at ted lunch
Someone explained the anthroplogy of who was sitting at which tables at the TED lunch for our global mentoring project …but after the event! The main questions were around structure and process, what was our consitution, would the service be open to anyone and everyone, or would mentees be nominated etc. These are big questions to be debated and discussed..but thank goodness Ory stood up and told of how her mentor changed her life. While she was a student he told her she could do more and expect more and across culture and age ranges made a huge difference - it can be simple, process does not have to take over.
Having said that..working in the vitual space across countries and cultures in the absence of knowing or meeting face to face there are all sorts of things we do need to consider. And one of the biggest is who can have a mentor? Where will they come from?
